Blackhawk Golf Club opened in 1964. Located 22 miles north of downtown Columbus, Herm Groezinger’s vision for Blackhawk came true when he found the land in Galena. Known as the ‘Poor Man’s Country Club’ when it first opened, Blackhawk is committed to excellence which is shown every day by its staff and their dedication to perfection. Blackhawk’s practice of walk-mowing greens is just one of many examples of this. The course was designed by Jack Kidwell in Herm Groezinger’s vision. Herm’s son Jack Groezinger & Luke Bowersock are the PGA Professionals on site. Kurt Boggs is the Golf Course Superintendent.
